Travel Tips

Get more on your cruise

Did you know many cruise lines give preferential treatment to those who book early?  That’s right if they have upgraded room types available, clients who’ve booked first are the first ones to secure complimentary upgrades!

In-The-Know

Always go meet the on-site rep at the hotel with the travel company you're with - they love to meet you and are great resources if you need help with something or can just give you tips to enjoy your time. 

Local speak

Try to speak a few words in the local language, it doesn't take much but trying and being interested in the local area makes a big impact (next time....some Spanish words for you to learn)

A little powder for your feet 

Don't like all that sand clinging to you after you've been at the beach?  Take baby powder with you and sprinkle on...the sand will fall right off!

Pools for all 

If you're traveling with a little one and want to enjoy the beach stress-free, take a baby pool, place it between your chairs and fill with a little water.  A few toys and your little one will be playing happily while you get to enjoy some sun.

Phone protection

We carry our phones with us everywhere and most aren't waterproof so before you head to the pool or beach, place your phone in a ziplock so if water happens to be near, your phone will be safe!
 

ALASKA

One of the highlights of this past summer was an Alaskan cruise.  It was the perfect reprieve from the on-going hot weather we had in Alberta - it was relaxing, beautiful and we even found some surprises!

Try It This Way
Many people hear about Alaskan cruises and maybe think they’re your ‘grandparents’ cruise.  It’s just not so!  The demographic is getting younger and with so many adventurous things to do and great activities onboard, there’s something for everyone!

The beauty of a cruise is that we get to see so much of the rugged coastline, spend time exploring and come ‘home’ to a cozy ship at the end of the day.  Besides deep sea fishing, whale watching and bear and eagle sightings, there’s culture and history.  Travelling the remote White Pass Railway and panning for gold really gave us the opportunity to imagine what life may have been like during the Gold Rush.

See It This Way
If cruising isn’t your style or if you want to see more of this great area, then consider exploring Alaska by land.  It’s easy to add on time after your cruise or fly directly.  Take a float plane or train and stay in a historic hotel or lodge.  Alaska is a huge land mass and if you enjoy the great outdoors, let’s chat about how we can help you see more of it.
