Hello folks: Just a quick note and some updates. We have revamped our website in an effort to better communicate and market to not only our members and regulars, but also out into the community. Please have a look and see what you think. You’ll notice the focus is very much about community and welcoming everyone in whether it be for a round of golf, a drink or an event. There is still a prompt from the main page to get to the tee time portal to book your golf – that part will work the same.
This change ties in with our entire mandate and approach this year from the physical golf course to marketing and day to day operations. Those of you that have been on the course will have noticed the incredible amount of pruning done over the off season. Dave and his team have done a great job and the goal is to make the golf course as playable as possible. For many years Henderson Lake has been known as the toughest golf course in Southern Alberta and it was almost a selling feature. The market has changed and I don’t believe that serves us as a positive as much as it did in years past.
I want to communicate to Southern Alberta that we have new tee boxes to suite every level of player, that we are a very walkable golf course and that we are located in the center of the city. There is no question that because of the size of our greens that we will continue to be a tough test of golf but I truly feel that a lot of people have written us off over the years thinking that it was way too hard. I want to see if we can reintroduce people to what a great place we have here and redoing the website, pruning and strategic tree removal are a couple of things that will help us in this process.
