What an amazing Friday out there today. The tee sheet is full and the wind is down. Given that we started this season about 40 days later than last, I would say that we have had a nice run of great weather.
It seems like two weeks ago that I was wandering around the club waiting for the snow to melt so we could get things going and start to see some traffic coming through. Turns out that was April and we are now a few days from August. Time is flying for sure but in a lot of ways we are just getting going.
As discussed earlier, the Ladies Classic is set to go for the long weekend and the following weekend will see our annual Club Championship on the Saturday and Sunday. When I played here as a kid as well as when I worked for Mr. Lowe the Club Championship was always my favorite weekend. I don’t say this as disrespect to the other clubs that I worked at after leaving here in 94', but I never felt like their Club Championship weekend ever had quite the same feel as it did here.
I understand that times have moved on and the playing demographic is ever-changing but I would really like the theme of our clubs to be a true celebration of our facility. As a member there is no charge to play in the event and as always Lori will have a great meal to enjoy. The main change in this year's event is that we are going to run the men's, seniors, ladies and juniors all together on one weekend as opposed to splitting them up over some weekdays and the weekend. Again, the goal is to get everyone out together to enjoy some light competition, great camaraderie and test ourselves on this wonderful golf course.
Players will play the tee they normally play I encourage everyone to hang around the club through the weekend for a great time. Please sign up in the pro shop and if you have any questions don't hesitate to touch base with myself or the golf shop staff.
Thanks to Cam and his crew for the most recent Titleist men’s night. We had over 100 players jump in which included a number of guests that wouldn't normally visit our club so thanks.
