The beating of the drums across the lake tells me it is time for the dragon boat festival which sadly means that July is close. For all of our teachers out there I know this is a great thing but we here at the golf club don’t want to rush the time away too quickly.
Couple things I want to touch on. First off for those that haven't been out in a couple days our forward tee project has reached the finish line and the new tees are now in play. They look like they’ve been part of the course for 50 years which is always a good sign of a job well done.
I’d like to thank Michael and the past board of director members for securing grant funding to make this project a possibility as well as Dave and his crew along with Boss Sod for executing it. Well done.
Our annual Canada Day 9 fireworks event is coming up. We’ve tweaked the plan a little bit and will offer more of an appetizer bar prior to play as opposed to Lori's full out prime rib dinner. I've had a number of comments indicating that as good as the prime rib is, it is a little tough to load up on a big meal and then go out and play so we'll try some lighter fare. We'll also have a snack station on course for that evening. We'd sure like the membership to bring some friends, members or non, and come out for a great evening. We'll play 9 holes of golf and then settle on the deck to watch the fireworks amongst friends. Sign up in the golf shop.
Lastly, there have been a few questions about tee time confirmations being email to members after booking their times on line. Some of you are receiving confirmations indication what green fee rate is payable when you check in. The reason this is happening is that when the time is booked by the members, it needs to be entered with your last name first. If we do it the other way then the system thinks you are a public player as opposed to a member. Lead with your last name and the system will bring you up as a member. Hopefully that clears that up but as always we are here to help you out and will do so if you need it.
