Welcome to June folks: I just wanted to say hello and bring you up to speed on a couple of things. With every day we are closer to opening our new forward tee boxes. We are confident they are really going to further enhance the playing experience at Henderson.
A topic of conversation has been about the gold and red “ball” tee markers as compared to the flat stone markers for the white and blue tees. We did have a full set of red stone markers but with every week, month and season we seem to have night time visitors deposit tee markers in the lake, hazard or their own basement. As a result, we do not have enough red stone markers to do all the tee boxes and we can no longer source those markers to replace the red or order gold ones to make all of our tees consistent.
It is quite a challenge because they are about $60 per marker even if we could get them. We are actively looking at alternatives and options which will allow us to have each of our four tee options marked properly and with a consistent look throughout.
On that note, Golf Canada will have our new tee information inputted in their system this week or early next so all scores entered from the gold or red tees will be accurate with respect to the rating and slope.
I would like to ask for some feedback from you with the topic being our practice areas. The club has always done a great job of making the most out of the limited space available. I think the prospect of a full range and practice area is unrealistic but please take a second and give me your position on the following topics:
Do you use the East and West Practice areas?
If so, ho many times per month would you estimate you use them.
If the club built a practice bunker on the East range, would you use it regularly.
We are just trying to get a feel for what our regulars are looking for and whether or not a project like this will be supported and valued. Thanks in advance for your thoughts.
Lastly, this Saturday we are hosting a member and guest dinner at the club. Any opportunity to enjoy Lori’s famous Prime Rib should be embraced so bring your significant other, a friend, family or all of the above and come have a nice night out. We’ll have drinks about 5 or 5:30 and the dinner will be on at about 6 p.m. Cost will be $25 and we’d love to have you come out for a story or two.

In terms of outside events this week, we are hosting the Lethbridge Chamber of Commerce tournament this Wednesday afternoon. It will be a full shotgun for 144 players plus volunteers so the kitchen will close at 6 on Wednesday as we will need the full restaurant and spike room to accommodate all of the participants.
