Hello folks: I am and have always been a delusional optimist. After having met with our Superintendent Dave in the last few days and looking at the forecast for the next 10 days or so, we are confident that we are going to get the golf course open this year. Unfortunately Mother Nature has not yet given us a complete picture as to what the exact date will be but:
THE CLUBHOUSE WILL OPEN NEXT SATURDAY, APRIL 21ST! Whether the course is open or not, we want to start seeing your familiar faces out here. Lori is excited to get everyone back and enjoying her great food.
Hours of operation for that weekend will be 9 a.m. to 3p.m unless the course is open in which case we will obviously stay open later.
Other things to keep in mind as we approach our latest opening date in history is the change in the minimum house charge. Up until this year it has been charged on a monthly basis. That program has changed in an effort to provide more flexibility to the membership as well as simplify the bookkeeping. The minimum charge is $200 for the entire season but that will be reconciled at the end of the golf season as opposed to monthly.
With respect to booking weekday tee times, that program will stay similar but we are going to back it up a couple hours so instead of a tee sheet opening at 12:01 a.m. for the next week’s time it will open at 10 p.m. Basically you will get one week and two hours advance booking. Our goal is to get you a little bit more sleep so you are ready to go when you get to the course.
The Men's League opening stag is slated for next Friday, April 20th and the Ladies fashion show extravaganza is slated for the evening of Friday, May 4th.
For our beer drinkers, you’ll be happy to know we have replaced our old draft beer system with a new glycol chiller system. This will keep the draft beer at a completely consistent, ice cold temperature which will all but eliminate foam, wastage and make sure each beverage is perfect.
I would like to personally thank all of our staff from Dave and his crew to Lori and Tammy, Cam and Matt and especially Lynn in the office for making this transition so great for me. I am very lucky to not only be here but to work with such dedicated, talented and loyal people. We are all looking forward to opening the gates and seeing all of you as we begin this new chapter at this great club.
