I would like to remind all members of the upcoming Championship’s this month.
 
Our own HLGC Club Championship is on August 12-13. There is a no entry fee for this Championship due to it is open to all to play. The Club has this tradition going back several years and a meal (steak dinner this year) will be provided on Sunday August 13 at 5:00 pm. Please ensure you enter at the pro shop. We are expecting 100+ participants.

Junior Club Championship is slated for August 15-16 and a minimum charge of $15 is associated with this championship tournament.

Senior Club Championship is August 16-17 and costs only $25. This cost includes meal and prizes.
 
Question of the Week:

Q. Why does the Senior Club Championship have an entry cost and the Club Championship doesn’t?

A. This question has been reviewed a couple of times in the past and it was concluded that the Club Championship is open to everyone while the Senior Club Championship has an age requirement to enter which is 55. Again in our discussions the committee felt that the tradition of a no cost club championship is unique and one that the members should embrace. In the past the Senior Club Championship was not included towards food and beverage minimum in which we changed to include the Senior Championship towards your minimum.
