HLGC NEWS - MAY 31
The Question of the Week: Is there a block of times for the public only?
There is, by direction of the Board of Directors, Henderson Lake Golf Club will have one tee time per hour each day reserved for public usage or call in reservations. The Board acting in the best interest of the Club and for public awareness will allocate one time per hour for the remainder of the 2017 golf season. One time per hour should not adversely affect our membership demands. Please note we are a public access golf course and we have a commitment to ensure that we can maintain public access play every day of the week. The tee time per hour via word of mouth and local advertising will hopefully generate good green fee revenue for the Club. During the occasion that tee times’ are not used they will revert back to either a starter time or will be available to whomever at that time.
HLGC Scramble June 10-11
There was some demand about revisiting or implementing another HLGC scramble. We would like to introduce a three-man scramble for an afternoon of June 10 and the morning of June 11. Our proposal would be 4 flights with buy-ins. Four flights will be determined by handicaps of low 2 individuals. Open flight – any three players, First flight 12 or greater, Second Flight 20 or greater and Third flight 28 or greater. Buy-in would be Open - $1000, First - $800, Second - $600 and Third - $400 Payouts will be 50/30/20.
HLGC Centennial Event – July 8
The committee reviewed all that was previously discussed and it was concluded that since we don’t have the certainty of the outside funding that we would have the following:
- Golf tournament – Shotgun start TBD
- Wine and apps following tournament
- President to welcome our guests and give a presentation – our relationship with the city etc.
- Club History by H. Lisowicz and R. Morrice
- Presentations to the 60 plus members and to the 50 plus members
- Hole in one – 5K on each of the four par 3s.
- Closing comments
- Cost to participants (except guests-60 plus members) $25.00
- There will be specials at the snack shacks during the day.
The event will be posted on the Club’s Site for members to register and a poster placed in the club so that those without internet can be made aware of the event and register. Registration will close on June 23 or once we have reached 144 registrations whichever comes first.
Other Marketing Strategies
The Club will be advertising a Centennial Tee time at 2:00 each day. This tee time is sold as one price of $100. It includes green fees only. Whether you have 1 golfer or 4 the price is $100. If 4 golfers come to play, each golfer pays $25 to play! This tee time is a special only for the Centennial Celebration season.
Twilight – Friday thru Sunday starting at 4:00 p.m. We are trying to promote another special that would entice couples or groups of individuals. We are promoting the Twilight has 1+1 for $80 for the twosome which includes green fees and a seat on a cart.
See you at the course!
